Job summary

HECO is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair industrial equipment at customer sites across Michigan and beyond. You will inspect electro-mechanical systems, perform electrical tests, and clearly communicate findings to customers.

You will travel about 40%, lift up to 50 lbs, and join a team that values reliability and hands-on problem-solving. The right candidate has 2+ years in electric motor field service or millwright work and holds a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in electric motor field service or millwright work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with rotating equipment experience considered a plus.
• Team player with solid communication and technical reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel ~40% including overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electro-mechanical equipment.
• Perform electrical tests using portable equipment (Megger, Surge, Hi-Pot).
• Conduct mechanical inspections on sleeve-bearing machines.
• Perform on-site tasks including electrical testing, vibration analysis, and shaft alignments.
• Communicate findings clearly to customers in a technical manner.
• Create and submit reports detailing completed work.
• Represent HECO professionally while on-site, upholding core values.
