Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Service Technician in Fredericksburg, VA to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors and related components on customer sites.

You will use precision tools, read equipment manuals, and provide clear technical reports. The role demands physical work, travel to customers, and strong problem solving in diverse environments, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
• Experience with compressed air systems or related equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair compressor systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose problems and recommend corrective actions in the field.
• Submit detailed technical reports and time/expense records weekly.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customers and field staff.
