Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing (IEM) is looking for a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, troubleshooting, and service support in customer sites. You will diagnose complex issues, coordinate with PMs and internal teams, and document actions and outcomes.

The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical skills, strong communication, and the ability to mentor Level I technicians in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems preferred.
• 1+ years supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• 1–3 years related electrical, mechanical, or field service experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical docs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good verbal and written communication with customers and teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organization and accurate documentation.
• Ability to mentor Level I technicians as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install/modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, PMs, and IEM teams.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot circuits, wiring, and networking gear.
• Coordinate with PMs, manufacturing, engineering to resolve issues in the field.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, and follow-up items.
• Provide on-the-job training to Level I technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
