Job summary

BearCom in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will work at customer sites, perform diagnostics, and ensure service quality.

The role requires strong electronics knowledge, RF troubleshooting, and willingness to travel regionally. On-the-job training is provided and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word/Excel).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally, sometimes overnight.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz).
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements and diagnose issues.
• Proficient in designing and installing DAS and BDA systems where applicable.
• Operate test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters.
