Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Technician II to lead start-up, commissioning, and post-start-up field services mainly within the data center market in Electrification Services for the United States. You will ensure ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines are followed, while traveling 90-100% of the time across the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 5 years of hands-on electrical/electronics engineering experience; OR associate degree/trade certification with 3 years of experience; OR bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience; OR high school diploma/GED with 3 years of equivalent work or military experience servicing critical power equipment.
• Must be knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Safety Codes and Regulations and QA (Local & National).
• Proven analytical and quality improvement ability.
• Able to communicate effectively with external customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work per customer order and expectations.
• Displays urgency and care in their area of responsibility.
• Ensures customer retention by delivering superior customer experience and communicating timelines.
• Plans and prepares site work for larger project; manages subcontractors at site.
• Travels 90-100% of the time across the United States; completes long-term assignments with extended travel.
• Troubleshoots equipment/systems/process failures and recommends corrective actions.
• Assist the factory with data collection and reporting to facilitate fleet performance analysis.
