Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform start-up services, preventive and remedial maintenance, and testing of UPS and power quality equipment at customer sites. You will inspect, test, document failures, and provide on-call emergency support, with cross-functional collaboration to identify solutions.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics or related technical field.
  • 4 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, and/or electronic products.
  • Intermediate knowledge of UPS products, services, and peripherals.
  • OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certifications.

Job description

• Perform start-up services, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of UPS and power quality equipment at customer sites.
• Identify, evaluate, and repair routine product failures.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
• Schedule and provide emergency technical support and on-call field service.
• Work with cross-functional MEPPI teams to identify product solutions.
• Inspect, test, and document failed products, components, and systems.
• Maintain detailed service records and develop thorough documentation related to repairs.
• Mentor and support less experienced technicians.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics or a related technical field
  • Four (4) years of experience troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, and/or electronic products or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of UPS products, services, and peripherals.
  • Advanced proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment.
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed equipment schematics and facility one-line drawings.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products, MRP/ERP systems, and company timekeeping and expense reporting tools.
  • Basic knowledge of communication and networking protocols.
  • OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certifications.
