Job summary

Hach, a Veralto company, is seeking a travel-based field service technician based in the Seattle area to support municipal and industrial customers with instrumentation maintenance. You will travel up to 75% overnight, perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and repairs, and serve as the on-site contact for technical and service-related issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in travel-based field service and/or customer-facing roles is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma required; associate’s/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude; experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to rent vehicles and/or book hotel rooms for business travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
• Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on-site contact for technical and service-related problems.
• Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc.; some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2).
• Submit prompt, accurate service reports that influence billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure monitoring.
• Follow safe work practices according to company policy.
• Execute administrative activities in support of service visits.
