Job summary

Hiab USA in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a skilled Technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, upgrades and refurbishments on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders and related equipment at Hiab locations. The role requires a High School/GED, 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations, a DOT Medical Card, a valid driver’s license, and owning your own tools.

Qualifications

Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two in two years.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
Own diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and tools.
Follow Hiab USA procedures and workplace instructions.

Responsibilities

Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates and related equipment.
Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
Stay up to date with technical developments and complete training as instructed.
Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow guidelines.
Maintain records, submit daily reports as directed.
Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to management.
Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
Demonstrate a positive image of the Hiab brand and adhere to the Quality System.
