Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Wirtgen Group Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair paving, milling and related equipment at customer sites across the region.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, English proficiency, and 2+ years of field service experience. Expect travel, overtime, and ongoing manufacturer training, along with a safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Two (2) years of continuous experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment.
• Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Furnish and maintain a set of tools and any specialty tools required by the company.

Responsibilities

• Operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations for in-field repairs.
• Diagnose problems and perform repairs on paving, milling/reclaimer, aggregate handling, and compaction equipment.
• Order parts, write technical reports, and communicate with customers and team members.
• Maintain service truck and perform safety inspections.
