Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a skilled Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar machines for our Wisconsin customers. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, along with preventive maintenance as directed.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of field experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and basic proficiency with computers and reading schematics. Journeyman status or MSHA certification is preferred or attainable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Journeyman status preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Caterpillar preferred.
• Experience diagnosing equipment using laptops, gauges, and instruments across systems.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, mining equipment, engines and components.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs.
• Repair Caterpillar equipment and perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required service and order parts as needed.
• Load/unload equipment, comply with safety rules.
