Job summary

Fabick Cat in Wisconsin is seeking a skilled heavy equipment technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar machines at customer sites and in our shop. You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, disassembly and reassembly to manufacturer specs, and preventive maintenance.

The role requires high school or GED, 2–5 years' experience, knowledge of heavy equipment, and ability to read manuals and schematics; MSHA certification or the ability to obtain it is

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 2–5 years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.
  • MSHA certification or ability to obtain it is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, primarily Caterpillar, at customer sites or Fabick shop.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
  • Disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Order parts as needed and ensure correct components are used.
  • Comply with OSHA safety rules and company policies.
