Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a field service professional to address daily repair needs in the Detroit Metro area. You will install, diagnose, and maintain equipment in the field, providing customer training as required and ensuring timely paperwork.

The role requires 1–3 years of electrical/electronic field service experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel on short notice. You will collaborate with senior engineers and product managers while upholding safety and calibration

Qualifications

Associate's Degree or related trade certification; 1–3 years in electrical/electronic field service.
Excellent communications and strong customer focus with teamwork.
Willing and able to travel at short notice; able to lift 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide training as required.
Document inspections, maintenance and repairs; submit paperwork timely.
Order, install and return parts; manage parts cycle time.
Review logs and prepare reports for customers.
Support service sales opportunities and promote revenue programs.
Maintain tools and test equipment; ensure calibration.
Provide technical support to customers and service professionals as needed.
Assist with site surveys, pilot programs, and meetings.
Maintain clear business communication; collaborate with senior FSEs and Product Managers.
