Job summary

Johnson Controls in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Installation and Service Technician to join our team. You will install, service, repair, and maintain retail products and equipment at customer sites, and you will track service calls and inventory.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in electronics or networking, strong networking fundamentals, and the ability to read blueprints. You must be able to lift 50-70 lbs, travel as needed, and complete required training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics and/or Networking or equivalent required; military experience preferred.
• General knowledge of electronics required.
• Strong understanding of Networking fundamentals.
• Excellent written and oral skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and basic PC skills.
• Highly organized with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
• Willing to obtain or have State License as required.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools.
• Maintain inventory of parts and ship used parts after use.
• Capable of physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, ducts and other difficult positions.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, quick learner.
• Independent or team work capability.
• Complete JCI EAS and Video trainings/certifications.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and scope documents.
• Ability to mentor and train others.
• Ability to perform service on integrated solutions.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain retail products and equipment at customer sites.
• Keep track of service calls via computer, including products serviced, work performed, hours and parts used.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory to ensure first-time fix.
• Demonstrate and train customers on equipment use.
• Keep manager informed about customer satisfaction and opportunities or recurring problems.
• Take care of other tasks as needed
