Job summary

RCI Doors seeks a reliable Commercial Door & Dock Service Technician to service customers across the Charlotte area. This remote field position is dispatched from home and focuses on diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.

You will install, service, repair, and inspect a wide range of door systems, and work in diverse environments including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail spaces, and offices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the door, construction, or related industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and at various job sites.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable, customer-focused, and professional.
• Basic computer/iPad skills and comfort using mobile apps.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing, and repairing commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.
• Completing fire door and automatic door inspections per safety standards.
• Performing preventative maintenance for proper operation.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and access control systems.
• Reading blueprints and following installation specifications.
• Working in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail spaces, and office buildings.
• Using mobile dispatch software to manage job details, service calls, and customer updates.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles in top condition.
• Following all safety procedures on every job.
