Job summary

RCI Doors in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated Entry Level Field Service Technician to join our team. You will learn to install, service, and repair commercial doors and docking equipment alongside experienced technicians, with on-the-job training and mentorship.

No prior industry experience required; you will develop skills to run calls independently over time, read blueprints, and ensure safety standards while supporting a variety of sites.

• Mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in hands‑on trade work.
• No industry-specific experience required; training provided.
• Comfortable with ladders, lifts, and varied job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with installation, service, and repair of commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.
• Learn to perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating properly.
• Support fire door and automatic door inspections per safety standards.
• Develop skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and basic access control systems.
• Learn to read blueprints and follow installation specifications.
• Work across warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail, and office buildings.
• Use mobile dispatch software to manage job details and customer updates.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in top condition.
• Follow all safety procedures on every job.

What We're Looking For

• Dependable, coachable, and safety-conscious

• Basic tablet/smartphoneproficiency

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Mustpass background check, drug screen, and physical
