Job summary

RCI Doors is seeking a reliable Commercial Door & Dock Service Technician to service customers across the Charlotte area. This remote field role is dispatched from home and involves diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.

You'll work on overhead sectional and rolling steel doors, loading docks, hollow metal doors, glass storefronts, gates, and access control systems, with a company truck and tools provided for daily

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the door, construction, or related industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and various job sites.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable, customer‑focused and professional.
• Basic computer/iPad skills and comfort using mobile apps.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment.
• Complete fire door and automatic door inspections per safety standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and access control systems.
• Read blueprints and follow installation specifications.
• Work in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail spaces and offices.
• Use mobile dispatch software to manage job details and updates.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in top condition.
• Follow all safety procedures on every job.
• Experience with storefront systems, hollow metal doors, or automatic pedestrian doors is a plus.
