Job summary

Ziegler Inc. in Brainerd, MN is seeking a diesel equipment technician to diagnose and repair CAT equipment, including heavy machinery and agricultural gear, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work with a team, respond to customer needs, maintain thorough documentation, and travel as needed; a CDL and clean driving record are required, along with a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma with several years of mechanic experience.
• 5+ years diesel equipment repair experience; field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical, and fuel systems.
• Prior CAT equipment experience; other brands a plus but not required.
• Ability to diagnose without supervision and read schematics.
• Strong customer service, detail-oriented, and good communication.
• Clean driving record; Class A CDL or willingness to obtain.
• Pre-employment drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including heavy machinery and ag gear.
• Responds to customer needs; a company truck is provided.
• Safely maintains complex equipment with diverse systems.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and vehicle in good condition.
• Communicates status to supervisor and completes paperwork.
• Documents labor and ensures work orders close and bill.
• Responds to after-hour emergency calls as directed.
• Identifies parts needs for inventory.
