Ziegler CAT in Crookston, MN is hiring an Ag/Construction Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy construction and agricultural equipment. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with a $5,000 signing bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or HS diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant shop experience.
• 2+ years of ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred.
• Knowledge of repairing agricultural equipment; ag tech experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers and teammates.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and use diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
• Role requires safety sensitivity and passing a pre-employment drug test.

We are looking for a dedicated mechanic with excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic skills and a sense of urgency at our Crookston branch. Hours: M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm. Position is offering a $5000 signing bonus.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment, compact equipment, aerial equipment and paving equipment; as well as ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 2+ years of relevant ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
