Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking a full-time, experienced Field Service Technician to service construction and agricultural equipment. You will diagnose and repair CAT machinery, respond to customer needs promptly, and operate a company truck while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of diesel repair experience, hydraulics and electrical systems knowledge, and the ability to read schematics. Employer offers strong benefits, life-work balance, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; CAT equipment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment, as well as agricultural equipment.
• Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed; a company truck is provided.
• Uses independent judgment to maintain and repair complex equipment with mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems at branch or customer locations.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area, adheres to safety procedures, and keeps a service vehicle clean and well maintained.
• Communicates job status with supervisor and completes paperwork promptly; assists other technicians as needed.
