Job summary

Gtatelecom is seeking a Field Service Technician for a 2-month contract in Sterling Heights, MI 48310. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair POS systems, printers, and related hardware while delivering excellent customer service.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US and willing to work evenings and on-call rotations. A valid driver’s license and CompTIA A+ are required, with Lexmark certifications and experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of field dispatch repair and hands-on hardware experience with printers, PCs, POS, break-fix and tool use.
• Lexmark certifications and experience.
• Experience with Lexmark printer break-fix and equipment installs, and HP, Dell, and Lenovo.
• Previous Field Service and/or Desktop, POS, printer Break/Fix experience
• Excellent technical troubleshooting and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record; driving position
• Active driver's license.
• CompTIA A+
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with calm under pressure.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and restaurant technology environments.
• Ability to perform light physical/contractor tasks (drilling, mounting).
• Willingness to work evenings and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
• Completion of account specific training and network cable termination training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while supporting clients and staff.
• Install, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair POS systems, hardware, peripherals, and printers.
• Install, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair various OEM printer equipment using warranty and non-warranty approaches.
• Resolve technical issues and clearly communicate solutions to customers.
• Document work performed, maintain configurations, and upgrade or replace hardware/software.
• Perform light contractor work such as drilling, mounting hardware, and running cabling.
• Train employees for proper use of supported systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair product failures; order and replace parts as needed.
• Recommend appropriate products, services, or solutions based on customer needs.
• Apply knowledge of operations and backend workflows to ensure seamless tech integration.
• Follow procedures with minimal supervision and report to Team Lead/Field Services Manager.
