Job summary

Komline‑Heron Innovators is seeking a Field Service Technician to ensure successful commissioning of SAF systems, train end users, and maintain service records. You will coordinate startups, supervise contractors, and ensure equipment meets performance criteria at customer sites.

Travel up to 70% to customer sites, with less travel in winter. The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, 5+ years of field service experience, and hands-on knowledge of process equipment control panels,

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, trade school, or military training.
• 5+ years of field service experience.
• Knowledge of process equipment control panels, motors, pumps, gear reducers, AC/DC drives, and instrumentation.
• 3+ years' experience with programmable controllers and operator interface terminals.
• 3+ years’ experience with mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals.
• Proficient in computers and Microsoft Suite.
• Collaborate with others and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning tasks, mechanical and electrical checks, and installation readiness.
• Record initial operations data and optimize equipment through tests.
• Supervise start‑up efforts from product lines and vendors for compliance.
• Coordinate contractors and onsite personnel to oversee activities.
• Ensure operational requirements during trials and review specs with customers.
• Produce progress reports and maintain punch lists for project completion.

About This Opportunity

As part of Komline, Heron Innovators manufactures innovative Suspended Air® Flotation (SAF®) water and wastewater treatment solutions. Through customized skid‑mounted or standalone SAF systems, Heron Innovators delivers sustainable and cost‑effective solutions that outperform traditional wastewater treatment methods.

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for ensuring successful commissioning of Komline‑Heron units, training end users, maintaining accurate service records, and responding promptly to service calls.

TRAVEL UP TO 70% TO CUSTOMER SITES - less in winter months

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning tasks such as mechanical and electrical checks, equipment verification, and proper installation ready for operation
• Record appropriate initial operations data while performing equipment optimization and tests
• Supervise and coordinate start‑up efforts from product lines and outside vendors to ensure system compliance within the scope of the customer’s performance criteria
• Coordinate contractors and other onsite personnel to oversee activities and inspect work‑in‑progress
• Implement operational requirements to ensure success during equipment trials and review specifications with the customer to ensure equipment compliance
• Produce accurate progress reports and site reviews for the Project Manager and Customer Representative, developing and maintaining punch lists to track outstanding items and deficiencies for project completion

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, trade school, or military training
• 5+ years of field service experience
• Possess knowledge of process equipment control panels, motor, pumps, gear reducers, AC/DC drives, and instrumentation
• 3+ years' experience with programmable controllers and operator interface terminals
• 3+ years’ experience working with mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals
• Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Suite
• Collaborate with others and working in a team environment
