Job summary

EO Johnson Business Technologies is seeking a Field Service Technician to be on-site at customer locations in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area. You will deliver, install, configure equipment, diagnose issues, and provide hands-on service to keep business technology running smoothly.

This role emphasizes strong mechanical and networking knowledge, customer-focused communication, and the ability to work independently or with a team, with travel to nearby sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic computer and networking knowledge.
• Experience in a customer-facing or technical service environment preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and think critically in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required.
• Ability to lift, move, and install equipment (up to 50 lbs or more as needed).

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install, and configure office equipment at customer locations.
• Perform machine setups, including assembly, configuration, and testing to ensure optimal functionality.
• Diagnose and repair equipment issues related to mechanical, electronic, networking, media, and software systems.
• Educate and train customers on proper usage and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Respond to service calls and efficiently resolve customer concerns on-site.
• Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for service and installation.
• Communicate effectively with customers, call coordinators, sales teams, and internal support staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or additional solutions and refer to sales as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and work environment.
• Travel regularly to customer sites within the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area and up to an hour outside of the 494/694 beltway.
