Job summary

Serac seeks a Field Service Technician II to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain cup filling, fill-seal, capping, and packaging machinery across North and South America with some international support. The role is hands-on and travel-intensive, requiring strong knowledge of cup-filling equipment and the ability to work directly with customers on high-value industrial systems.

Qualifications

• Cup filling or fill-seal experience required; dairy/food filling-sealing equipment a major plus.
• OEM or machine-builder field service background on filling, capping, or packaging equipment.
• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and logic modification (Allen-Bradley primary, Siemens a plus).
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including pneumatics and controls.
• Based in Twin Falls or Boise, Idaho; must reside within 1 hour of a major airport.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; willing to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission cup filling, fill-seal, capping, and packaging machines at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control issues to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose PLC logic and modify programs as needed (Allen-Bradley primary, Siemens secondary).
• Provide customer training and support trials, upgrades, and format/cup-size changeovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Complete detailed service reports and provide root-cause feedback to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Project Teams, and Global Service groups.

About the Role

The Field Service Technician II plays a critical role in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining cup filling, cup fill-seal, liquid filling, capping, and packaging machinery at customer sites across North and South America, with occasional international support.

This is a hands-on, travel-intensive role ideal for technicians who know cup-filling and fill-seal equipment, thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and want to work directly with customers on high-value industrial equipment.

• You must reside in Twin Falls or Boise, Idaho, or the immediate surrounding area Boise airport access strongly preferred for rapid deployment. Candidates outside this region will not be considered for this posting

What You'll Be Doing

• Install & Commission Equipment: Start up new and refurbished cup filling, fill-seal, capping, and packaging machines
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control issues to minimize downtime
• PLC Diagnostics: Modify and debug PLC logic as needed (Allen-Bradley primary, Siemens secondary)
• Customer Support: Train operators and maintenance teams; support trials, upgrades, and format and cup-size changeovers.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections, upgrades, and reliability imrovements
• Documentation: Complete detailed service reports and provide root‑cause feedback to engineering teams
• Collaboration: Work closely with Electrical Engineering, Project Teams, and Global Service groups

What We're Looking For

• Cup filling and fill-seal experience strongly required (cup, dairy, or food filling-sealing machinery a major plus)
• OEM or machine-builder field service background on filling, capping, or packaging equipment
• Hands-on Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting and logic modification (Siemens a plus)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including pneumatics and controlsComfortable working independently at customer sites and training custome personnel
• Associate degree in Electronic Technology or related field Equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for formaleducation.
• Based in Twin Falls or Boise, Idaho
• Short-notice deploymentsWeekends and extended onsite stays
