Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) to provide hands- on technical support for critical manufacturing equipment across U.S. manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to unplanned downtime. The Field Service Engineer will play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and improving overall operational performance. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, hands- on problem solver who can work independently while partnering closely with maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, and equipment vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair critical manufacturing equipment, including Tetra Pak fillers, linear fillers, and JBT equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability, performance, and service life.
- Respond quickly to unplanned equipment downtime and drive issues through resolution.
- Partner with site maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and optimize equipment performance.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and hands- on support to site maintenance personnel.
- Assist with the development and training of site technicians and maintenance teams.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and external service providers when specialized technical support is required.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment service, repairs, maintenance activities, and performance.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Provide regular equipment status, service, and performance updates to the Senior Manager of Field Service.
- Travel regularly to manufacturing facilities throughout the United States to provide on-site technical support.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of industrial equipment maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Tetra Pak and/or JBT equipment is strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Proven ability to diagnose equipment problems and efficiently identify and implement solutions.
- Experience working with complex manufacturing equipment and production systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance technicians, engineers, production teams, vendors, and leadership.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel weekly to manufacturing facilities across the U.S.
- Ability to respond effectively to urgent equipment issues and support operational needs outside of standard business hours when required.
