Job summary

Vermeer Midwest in Goodfield, IL is seeking a Field Service Technician. This full-time role requires traveling to customer sites in a company-provided service truck to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and vehicles.

You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and keep detailed maintenance records while working independently with strong communication. CDL Class A is preferred or obtainable, and local travel with overtime may occur.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles or equipment.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and welding (acetylene and arc).
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve on-site issues.
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to travel locally and work independently.

What You’ll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for customers in the Central Illinoisarea. This hands-on, mobile role involves:

• Traveling to customer sites in a company-provided service truck
• Diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles
• Performing inspections and preventive maintenance
• Keeping accurate maintenance records
• Working independently and managing your schedule efficiently

What You Bring

• 2-5 years’ experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles or equipment
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and welding (acetylene and arc)
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues on-site
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel locally and work independently
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain one
• Bonus: Experience in the agriculture industry
• Must pass background check, drug screen, andMVR check.
