An established industry player is seeking a Telecommunications Installer to join their team in Glen Allen, VA. This role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and government radio systems, including E911 technologies. Job Summary:
Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and government radio systems, E911 technologies, and other telecommunications solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all duties of a Field Service Installer, plus:
Install and configure hardware and software for radio systems, E911 technologies, and related telecom solutions
Troubleshoot computer, network, two-way radio, and telecommunications systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals
Tune RF combining equipment to meet operational specifications
Assist with system cutovers, upgrades, and preventative maintenance tasks
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support, as required
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of two-way radio systems, E911 technologies, and basic networking
Familiarity with test meters and diagnostic equipment
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
1–2 years of relevant experience in two-way radio communications, 911 systems, or a comparable combination of training and experience
Additional Requirements:
Must be physically able to work at heights, climb, bend, pull cables, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
