ENGEL Machinery North America has a job opportunity for a Service Technician in our Service Department. Job Summary:

The Service Technician performs work remotely at customer sites, installing and servicing equipment, and providing customer training and support as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoots and repairs injection molding machines and robots, including conducting tests and inspections on all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, or software components, including calibrations to optimize performance. Performs software and hardware installations.
2. Performs safety checks on equipment.
3. Educates customers on equipment operation and proper maintenance.
4. Manages resolution of customer issues, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary.
5. Diagnoses control system problems and develops an organized approach to troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing parts.
6. Instructs other Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems.
7. Communicates regularly with the Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to resolve field issues.
8. Provides written reports to the Service Manager periodically.

Educational/Training Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• 5+ years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with injection molding machines and a well-rounded skill set in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems, with the ability to train customers and employees.
• Understanding of the injection molding process.
• Systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of microprocessor programming.
• Familiarity with materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and others.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service orientation.
• Tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customers.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots is preferred.
• Efficient use of internal resources to resolve issues quickly and correctly.
• Ability to work independently with minimal support.

MUST HAVE:

• Valid Passport and driver’s license in good standing, including REAL-ID.
