Job summary

BearCom in New Orleans Harahan, LA, is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will create codeplugs, install RF hardware, and help customers with innovative solutions while traveling regionally and on-call as needed.

The ideal candidate has a strong electronics background, hands-on RF equipment experience, and proficiency with test equipment. Driving a valid license and ability to work at customer sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient electronics background.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment.
• Understands two-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Proficient with test equipment (service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters).
• IP networking experience is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Drug screenings, MVR, and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend appropriate equipment to meet customer requirements; travel regionally and on-call as needed.
