Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems in our New Orleans area location. You will handle mid-level programming, service RF equipment, and recommend hardware to fit customer needs.

Expect some regional travel and on-call hours. The role emphasizes strong customer service, technical skill, and the ability to create effective solutions for demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Proficient electronics background.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing RF equipment.
• Understanding two-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Competent with test equipment (service monitors, wattmeters, etc.).
• IP networking experience is a plus.
• MS Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Background checks and drug screenings are part of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (RF systems, dispatch consoles, DAS, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
