Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) seeks a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, and service for IEM equipment at customer sites across the Bay Area and beyond.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and effective communication with project managers, contractors, and customers. Travel up to 75% is expected; a good safety mindset and documentation discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution or related field.
• 1+ year experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with internal teams.
• Document service activities and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor Level I technicians as needed.
• Travel to customer sites up to 75%.
