Job summary

Newman Tractor is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment at customer sites. You will use diagnostic tools and telematics data to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform planned maintenance, and document all work for accuracy and uptime.

The role requires strong problem solving, clear communication with customers, and a commitment to safety. Travel to customer locations is expected as part of daily service calls.

Qualifications

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and motor graders.
• Perform necessary repairs, adjustments, and replacements to restore equipment functionality.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, telematics data, and machine history to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance services, including fluid checks, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failure points.
• Ensure all safety systems and components are operational.
• Examine telematics reports for fault codes, performance data, and other indicators of abnormal operation.
• Communicate with customers to confirm symptoms and clarify issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of heavy equipment at customer locations.
• Perform repairs and replacements to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools and telematics data to determine root causes and timelines.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring safety and reliability.
• Document repairs, parts used, and labor times in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with customers for scheduling and updates on progress.
