Job summary

Newman Tractor, LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy construction equipment at customer sites from Bartow to Apopka, FL.

You will use diagnostic tools, telematics data, and a structured pre-trip process to assure high first-time fix rates and reliable equipment, while delivering excellent customer service. Travel to customer locations weekly and document repairs in the ERP system, communicating clearly with customers about issues and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy equipment.
• Perform repairs, adjustments and replacements to restore functionality.
• Use diagnostic tools and telematics data to identify issues efficiently.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance including fluid checks and lubrication.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage or potential failure points.
• Ensure safety systems are operational and records are accurate.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and motor graders.
• Perform necessary repairs, adjustments, and replacements to restore equipment functionality.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, telematics data, and machine history to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance services, including fluid checks, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failure points.
• Communicate with customers to confirm symptoms and clarify issues.
• Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and labor times in the ERP system.
• Maintain detailed records of service calls, including pre-trip preparation and diagnostics performed.
