Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking skilled Field Service Technicians to install, commission, maintain, and repair diesel engines, electrical controls, cranes, and machinery in a busy shipyard environment.

You will diagnose issues, read blueprints, document service reports, travel up to 75%, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure first-time fixes and safe operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in a technical field plus 4 years of relevant or military experience or 4+ years of military/industry experience in similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment issues and develop effective solutions.
• Perform scheduled and emergency service with a focus on first-time fix.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Maintain up-to-date service documentation and reports.
• Stay current on engineering updates, service notices, and product changes.
