Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a Davit Service Engineer / Davit Technician to install, test, commission, and maintain electric and hydraulic davit systems across diverse customer bases. You will travel to shipyards and vessels to perform service, inspections, and upgrades following safety standards.

The role combines field work with safety and customer-facing duties, ensuring mission-critical davit systems are safe, reliable, and compliant across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Technical/vocational training in hydraulic/electric systems is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic/electric systems and cranes is strongly preferred.
• Field service, maintenance, or technician background is desired.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, service, and maintain electric and hydraulic davit systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues; replace components as needed.
• Perform shipboard and field service, inspections, and safety checks per procedures and standards.
• Prepare service reports and documentation; ensure compliance with ISO and quality systems.
