Fairbanks Morse Defense seeks a Field Service Technician – Electro-mechanical Systems to support Hunt Valve operations at the Newport News Shipyard. You will maintain electro-mechanical actuator systems aboard U.S. Navy vessels and troubleshoot complex naval systems in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience is required.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with electrical test equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency for reporting and documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Service electro-mechanical actuator systems on naval platforms.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues.
• Perform operational testing and system validation.
• Use hand tools and calibrated test equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Document all work using laptop-based reporting systems.
• Communicate findings with engineers and Navy personnel.
• Maintain safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
