Job summary

DHL Express is hiring a Field Service Supervisor to coordinate parcel movement by air and ground, overseeing international import/export operations and a team of 8-12 staff. You’ll ensure safety, compliance, and service quality while driving performance and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include supervising ramp and back-office functions, collaborating with Customs and DHL Imports, and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in function or business area.
• An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
• Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relative to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting and cost control, and progressive techniques in area of specialization.
• Generally understands basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action.
• Typically requires BS/BA and 2 years’ experience in related field, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Professional certification required in some areas.
• Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Driving Privileges standards.
• Must be 18 years old
• Excellent customer service skills
• Candidate must pass pre-employment background, drug, and medical physical screening

Responsibilities

• Expedites the daily activities of all operational functions ensuring client satisfaction is achieved and policies followed.
• Supervises day-to-day airport ramp operations; loading/unloading of cargo aircraft per regulations and carrier consolidations.
• Supervises warehouse sort operations for international import/export shipments.
• Supervises back office staff; monitors flights, updates network and deploys contingencies.
• Works with US Customs and DHL Imports clearance to ensure correct processing of shipments.
• Develops and manages relationships with Business Partners and stakeholders.
• Assists in annual budget preparation and provides technical product guidance to staff.
• Supervises a unionized workforce of 8-12 staff; hires, coaches, trains, and develops personnel.
