Job description

Schneider Electric’s Field Service Representatives perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on company and third‑party equipment across diverse environments.

Typical Responsibilities

• Pre‑site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment.
• Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams.
• Complete field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance and startup data sheets.
• Work with managers and regional service directors to resolve complex escalated issues.
• Continuous learning and training on various products in the field and classroom.
• Travel throughout the region for local customer support or countrywide travel, including overnight travel by vehicle or air.
• Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start‑ups.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on higher‑complexity projects and act on behalf of the District Service Manager when required.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, military training, or equivalent experience in electrical‑related disciplines.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics.
• Understanding of AC and DC power principles and supply circuit components.
• Minimum 2 years of field service repair and customer service experience with UPS, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, PDU, or related equipment.
• Minimum 2 years in field services or equivalent industry experience.
• Good safety practices and adherence to company safety procedures (lockout‑tagout, safety programs, training).
• Ability to identify hazards, report safety matters, incidents, near misses.
• NFPA‑70E or OSHA experience preferred.
• Safe driving and vehicle operation skills.
• Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals.
• Strong written communication for service reports, correspondence, procedures.
• Physical capability to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 40 lbs; work in varied weather and confined spaces.
• English proficiency.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and ability to use company digital tools.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $66,000 – $99,000 (base pay plus short‑term incentive). Salary determined by performance, experience, education, and training.
