Job description

Field Service Representative - Power/Electrical (Finance)

Schneider Electric's Field Service Representatives play a vital role in our organization — collaborating with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment from both Schneider Electric and third-party manufacturers across diverse environments. They are problem solvers, customer-focused, passionate about their work, and represent the future of Schneider Electric. Is this you?

We provide comprehensive training on products, digital and physical tools, along with service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily use.

This is a site-based role with occasional nonstandard hours, offering a 40-hour guaranteed workweek plus overtime, primarily at customer sites.

The position is within our U.S. Services division, focusing on power distribution and critical power infrastructure equipment.

Typical daily responsibilities include:
  1. Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modifications of equipment
  2. Problem-solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams
  3. Completing field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
  4. Collaborating with your manager or regional director to resolve escalated issues
  5. Engaging in ongoing training and learning about various products
Additional activities may involve:
  1. Traveling regionally or nationally, including overnight trips by vehicle or air
  2. Supporting senior technicians and project management on larger system startups
  3. Working with larger teams of FSRs and project managers on complex projects
  4. Representing the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues
Ideal candidates will have:
  • An associate's degree, trade/vocational certification, military training, or similar electrical-related experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Solid understanding of AC and DC power principles and components
  • At least 2 years of experience in field service repair and customer service, especially with UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, PDU, or related equipment
  • Knowledge of safety practices and adherence to safety procedures
  • NFPA-70E or OSHA experience (preferred)
  • Good driving and vehicle operation skills
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and interpreting schematics
  • Effective communication skills for writing reports and engaging with customers
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks and work in various environmental conditions

We offer a comprehensive onboarding experience, including two weeks of in-person training at our Dallas, TX facility, followed by online training and mentorship.
