Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field service technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations, especially turbomachinery and package systems, with on-site preventive maintenance.

Applicants diagnose with test equipment, refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications; perform commissioning, and maintain strong customer service while working proactively on-site in diverse environments.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations.
  • Proactive approach and ability to seek out work and accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving problems.
  • Knowledge of machines used in power plants; ability to conduct preventive maintenance and repair or replace faulty mechanical parts.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance in oil and gas; ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); ability to design, implement and operate automated process controls.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques.
  • Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and physical fitness evaluation.
  • Clean driving record: no moving violations within the last 12 months, no
  • Successfully complete physical exam and obtain OGUK (offshore) certification by a Solar-approved physician.
  • Be able to obtain a legal Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Responsibilities

  • Utilize digital tools and systems.
  • Check common causes of trouble; clean and lubricate equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine installations and adjust equipment within normal procedures
