Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field-based Technical Support Specialist to install and service POWERBOND and broadloom flooring across the western United States and Western Canada. You will troubleshoot, evaluate, document findings, and deliver reports within 48 hours.

Comfortable presenting training sessions and conducting certifications is required. This role involves substantial travel and hands-on product demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Experience providing technical support for flooring installation and product applications.
• Ability to conduct field inspections and document observations.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% to job sites across the western US and Western Canada.
• Bi-lingual not required but preferred.
• Strong reporting and sample collection capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Support via in-person contact, as well as telephone and E-mail communications (Product, Installation, Site Conditions, Maintenance, etc.).
• Significant amount of troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Conduct Claim Inspections and Technical Evaluations in the field with travel to jobsites across the western US and western Canada.
• Submit detailed reports within 48 hours including key observations/facts, photographs, samples and evidence.
• Product Installation of SOFT surface materials (Carpet tile, POWERBOND, broadloom) for trade shows and field testing.
• Conduct training sessions and seminars with hands-on installation demonstrations and public speaking.
• Conduct POWERBOND and broadloom certification tests (written and practical) with pass/fail results.
• Manage logistics and submit paperwork to the corporate office for certification of students who pass.
• 50%-75% travel with Tarkett Account Executives on customer visits to provide technical support on sales calls.

• Product Installation of SOFT surface materials (Carpet tile, POWERBOND, broadloom) for trade Show E.g. NeoCon, Mock-ups, Field Testing, tip sheet videos, etc.


• Conduct training sessions and seminars. Involves hands-on installation demonstration and speaking/presenting in front of an audience.


• Conduct POWERBOND and broadloom certification tests (written and practical exam) that are pass or fail for the students.


• Manage the logistics of that and submit paperwork to the corporate office for certification of those students who pass the test.


• 50% - 75% travel with Tarkett Account Executives on customer visits to provide technical support on a sales call.

Requirements

• Intermediate to Advanced computer skills (MS Office)


• Effective communication skills.


• Bi-lingual not required but preferred.


• Flooring installation experience; including and preferred with POWERBOND, woven, and tufted broadloom.


• Profession, respectful, honest, reliable, strong work ethic desired.


• Ability to travel
