Job summary

Rivian Automotive in California is seeking a Service Operations Manager with energy and initiative to lead field service operations. You will manage P&L, WIP, and customer experience (NPS), while building a high-performance team of technicians and advisors.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with Service Ops, Sales, Retail, and Delivery, and drive process improvements that align with Rivian's safety and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• Manage remote service teams and drive performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding planning and organizational skills with operational excellence.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• High-level administrative experience; advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).

• Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and servicing methods.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Automotive technical skills preferred.
• Able to travel as needed.
• Automotive repair knowledge preferred.
• Experience in start-up environments preferred.
• Experience in leading automotive/high-tech teams in fast-paced settings.
• Understanding of SWOT, Lean, Six Sigma, Visual Management preferred.
• Physical exertion may be required (long hours, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Strong English communication, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Manage a P&L, WIP, and customer experience metrics (NPS).
• Lead local operations with servant leadership and hands-on approach.
• Ensure programs are developed and aligned with Rivian objectives.
• Own high-value inventory reconciliation.
• Collaborate across Service Operations, Sales, Retail, and Delivery teams.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve field service operations.
• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate logistics and meetings.
• Build a customer-centric team of technicians and advisors.
• Oversee hiring, performance management, and employee development.
• Foster an inclusive Rivian culture and high morale.
• Establish safe service practices and processes.
• Promote Rivian safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
• Track and report KPIs at Service Centers.
• Guide site leadership via RIV EXCEL and accountability cascades.
• Interact with customers, families, 3rd parties, and suppliers at sites.
