Job summary

Herc Rentals in Theodore, AL seeks a Field Service Mechanic A to lead product knowledge and ensure our fleet remains in top condition on customer jobsites. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and power systems with minimal supervision.

You will educate customers, maintain logs, follow safety protocols, and build positive relationships with customers while supporting the branch’s service goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate and test heavy equipment and tools.
• Ownership of basic hand and power tools.
• On-call availability and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Herc fleet at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulics, and propane systems.
• Maintain clean, organized jobsite work areas and complete service logs.
