Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead equipment maintenance on customer sites and ensure fleet readiness. You will diagnose, repair, and service heavy equipment, communicating with jobsite foremen and maintaining thorough logs.

The role requires testing a range of machinery, staying on-call, and following safety guidelines while building strong customer relationships in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate and test equipment (boom lifts, forklifts, generators, hydraulics, pumps).
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and warnings.
• Own a sufficient selection of basic hand and power tools.
• On-call capability and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at long-term customer sites.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery replacement, and related services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure safe operation at job sites.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Produce service reports and repair logs, maintain organized job sites.
