Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking an Area Service Manager to lead 8-12 Field Services Technicians and 1-2 Lead Technicians. Travel up to 75% is required, with responsibilities including safety, troubleshooting, coaching, budgeting, and field operations across multiple sites.

The role demands strong interpersonal skills, experience in gas compression, and the ability to manage costs, equipment, and staffing while maintaining customer relationships.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred or requisite job experience in the gas compression industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of field experience in gas compression industry.
• Ability to configure gas compression equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Capable of driving a commercial-size truck.
• Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression.
• Strong interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to teach and communicate both technical and soft skills to FSTs aiding in their training and development.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and inventory tracking software.
• High degree of mechanical ability.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor.
• Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety adherence and meet service standards.
• Provide first-line troubleshooting support.
• Hire, coach, and manage performance; oversee compensation and performance.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Maintain field-level customer relationships and proactive field communication.
• Monitor fleet operation costs and meet targets.
• Oversee Service Technician activities and coordinate schedules.
• Advise Operations Director on major repairs.
• Maintain run times to meet contractual service levels and ensure maintenance.
• Recommend capital expenditures for field equipment.
• Liaise with external vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with sales to identify opportunities.
