Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking an Area Service Manager to lead 8–12 Field Services Technicians and 1–2 Lead Technicians, while managing up to 100,000 hp across multiple field locations. The role requires up to 75% travel to customer sites and compressors.

You will oversee safety, technical troubleshooting, hiring, coaching, and performance, plus budgeting and resource allocation. Strong leadership and customer relations are essential for success in this operations-driven organization.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in gas compression.
• Minimum 8 years field experience in gas compression.
• Ability to configure gas compression equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of time.
• Valid driver’s license with MVR acceptable to USA Compression.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety adherence and ensuring service standards.
• First-line troubleshooting support.
• Hiring, coaching, motivating, compensation, and performance management.
• Following company policy and procedures.
• Maintaining field-level customer relationships.
• Providing proactive communication to customers and employees.
• Monitoring fleet costs and meeting targets.
• Overseeing field technicians and leads.
• Advising Operations Director on major repairs as needed.
• Ensuring run time and maintenance meet contractual agreements.
• Maintaining company vehicles.
• Recommending capital expenditures for field equipment.
• Liaising with outside vendors when needed.
• Working with sales to identify opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Full-time salary position.
• Structure may be local Area Service Manager schedule or rotational assignment.
