Job summary

SEACORP is seeking a Field Service Manager to lead a team of field service engineers in Manassas, VA, supporting installation, testing and troubleshooting of Tactical Navigation equipment.

The role requires 5 years of hands-on Navy navigation experience and prior team leadership in a technical capacity, with travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative. You will develop procedures, report progress, and ensure safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical School Diploma.
• Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least 3 of the following 4 areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, Training.
• Previous team management experience in a technical capacity.
• As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

• Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and inspections.
• Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects.
• Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under operating conditions.
• Maintain and improve test procedures for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

• Travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative; conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
• Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and/or inspections.
• Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects.
• Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Continuously develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to ongoing and anticipated projects.
• Maintain and seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

Qualifications

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories involve sitting, standing, and extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools, and significant lifting of < 40 lbs; occasional lifting > 40 lbs. Daily activities include sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting. Work is performed in highly variable conditions with seasonal variations in weather and temperature. There is a high probability of working in confined spaces. Dust, noise and constant activity are associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
