Job summary

KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for semiconductor manufacturing, seeking installation engineers (IE-2) to deploy, troubleshoot, and service new tools at customer sites. The role involves extensive travel, documentation, and collaboration with senior staff to ensure high-quality installations.

The position requires strong analytical and mechanical skills, knowledge of software and networking basics, and commitment to long periods away from home.

Qualifications

• Analytical and mechanical aptitude required to diagnose and repair complex equipment.
• Proficiency in understanding software/electronic/electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot across Windows/Unix/Novell networking environments.
• Must complete ongoing technical training to operate and install equipment.
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills for customer interactions.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Attain and maintain Installation Certification Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Install new tools at customer sites following procedures and achieve consistent results.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot equipment problems related to installation.
• Troubleshoot and repair system-level issues with senior engineers when needed.
• Prepare field service reports and communicate progress and non-conformances.
• Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites for extended periods.
• Update management daily with progress and service reports.
• Work six days a week with potential overtime and travel independently.
