Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking an Install Engineer to execute installation, calibration, and initial commissioning of our products at customer sites worldwide. This role supports ramp activities under the Ramp Manager, ensuring efficient, safe deployments.

You will diagnose and resolve issues, document activities, and ensure customers are satisfied throughout deployment. Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, and stay current with new products through training.

Qualifications

• BS in electronics, mechanical, or related technical discipline, or equivalent military/technical experience.
• 3–5 years of field service, installation, or technical support experience.
• Hands-on experience with electro/mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of optics, image processing, or motion control is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure complex electro/mechanical equipment and software at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation and startup.
• Coordinate with Ramp Manager and field teams to meet schedules.
• Ensure installations meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Document activities and resolutions per company processes.
• Provide feedback to engineering to improve procedures.
• Maintain tools and inventory for installation activities.
• Support customer interactions with clear communication.
