Field Service Engineer – Warranty and Quality Assurance

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to manage punch list items, warranty issues, and support large data center customers. This role involves hands-on technical support, ensuring smooth installations, and driving continuous improvement in data center systems. The position is based in the Columbus, OH area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-installation site visits to ensure proper storage conditions and environmental readiness.
  • Manage and resolve punch list items for data center installations.
  • Oversee warranty-related issues, working with internal teams and customers.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in power distribution systems.
  • Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of LV and MV equipment.
  • Serve as a primary contact for customer inquiries and technical issues.
  • Provide feedback to project and quality managers to improve processes and products.
  • Support sites primarily in Columbus, OH, with travel across the U.S. as needed (80%).
  • Maintain documentation of warranty claims and technical issues.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years experience in power distribution systems (low and medium voltage).
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, including switchgear and control circuits.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems' testing, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Availability for travel up to 80% and emergency assignments.
  • Based in Columbus, OH with a valid driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in customer service or warranty support in industrial/data center sectors.
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years field service experience, especially with data centers or power systems.
  • Knowledge of protection/control relays, SF6 breakers, project management software.
  • Certifications like OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, MSHA 46/48, NETA, NICET, or TWIC are advantageous.
Benefits & Compensation
