Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer (FSE) performs skilled technical work in the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of diagnostic and imaging devices. The role includes quality assurance testing, staff training, and requires travel to regional customer sites. This is a home-office-based position.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  1. Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair diagnostic imaging equipment using established electronic testing methods.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external resources for installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance, including customer training.
  3. Perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and modifications according to standards and manufacturer recommendations.
  4. Train medical and clinical staff on equipment usage and safety.
  5. Document all inspections, repairs, and adjustments accurately, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain current knowledge of service software and respond to support calls promptly.
  7. Complete service reports and preventative maintenance documentation within specified guidelines.
  8. Manage parts orders, returns, and shipping records following established procedures.
  9. Keep internal teams informed about customer contacts and resolution statuses.
  10. Support contract retention and growth efforts.
  11. Follow escalation procedures and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  12. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with imaging and networking technologies.
  13. Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 100 lbs with proper technique.
  14. Provide on-call support on a rotating basis as needed.
Requirements
  • Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field; military experience is acceptable.
  • Minimum five years of experience servicing medical imaging equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, operating systems, and network technology.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Compliance with customer-specific credentialing, immunizations, and drug testing policies.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging devices and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Flexible work hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.
